Team Spotlight: Sharon Musto

We want to take this opportunity to introduce our new colleague, Sharon Musto. Sharon comes to us from the Landmark School with 30 years of experience, having worked as a reading specialist, academic advisor, testing coordinator, and public school liaison. Sharon also trained and evaluated new faculty in intervention programs related to phonemic awareness, linguistic patterns, spelling, and reading fluency. In addition, she provided training to a variety of public school teachers via Landmark’s Outreach program. She is well-versed in general and special education instruction techniques in writing and mathematics as well.

In her new role at KidCenterED, she is excited to apply her extensive knowledge of reading and learning disabilities, experience collaborating with IEP teams as a school liaison, and ability to understand and craft high-quality special education instruction across the curriculum.

She will be serving families in several capacities, including:

• Completing academic evaluations in order to confirm learning disability diagnoses, make educational recommendations, and formulate academic planning for students with a range of learning needs.

• Completing school-based observations to evaluate the appropriateness of students’ academic placements, including language-based programming, and to make recommendations based on analysis of their academic skills and overall profiles

• Attending school meetings to present her expert opinion regarding students’ academic needs regarding recommended educational services, placements, accommodations, etc.
