We provide reading evaluations that can help determine whether a child has Dyslexia or a Reading Disorder and what can be done to help. A Dyslexia evaluation typically involves assessment of a set of core reading-related and language processing skills such as phonemic awareness, decoding, rapid naming ability, sight word recognition, auditory working memory, and reading comprehension. Sometimes additional assessment is required in order to understand whether other factors are contributing to reading problems (e.g., poor attention and concentration, executive function weaknesses, slow processing, etc.). We will perform a consultation with you prior to the evaluation to plan an appropriate evaluation that will clarify your child’s diagnosis and what type of reading interventions and supports he/she should receive.
